Anna Lena Bercht is a human geographer from Freie University Berlin/Germany and is doing her research on the Lofoten cod fisheries.
To gain a deeper insight into fishermen’s opinions on current and assumed future changes in their lives as fishermen and in the Lofoten cod fisheries (possible risks, challenges, benefits), she wants to carry out a photo study. Often, a picture is worth than thousands words. In academia, the perceptions and opinions of local fishermen have been insufficiently addressed in vulnerability research. Hence, her project’s aim is to develop a long-term learning framework in mutual exchange with local fishermen for responding to challenges of future Arctic change.
